Know the business before you decide

Stop flipping through store pages, guessing users and sizing markets by hand.

💡

Indie makers: pick an idea

Size up a niche before you build: who’s in it, how big they are, where users are unhappy.

“Has someone built this? How many people use the best one — is it still growing?”
🎯

Small teams: track competitors

Competitors’ growth, pricing changes and complaint trends on one card.

“How fast is my competitor growing? What are users complaining about?”
🔍

Buyers: do due diligence

Cross-check a seller’s claimed revenue against public users, growth and pricing.

“The seller says $5K/month — do the users and growth back it up?”

Every number shows its work

Revenue is always a range with its formula: users × category paid rate × price. The model is calibrated on verified-revenue products, and where backtests fail no amount is shown — we’d rather say nothing than guess.

FAQ

Didn’t find your answer? Ask us

Where does the data come from?

Public data only: user counts, ratings and versions from store listings (collected daily), the product’s own pricing page, public reviews, and web-archive snapshots for history. RankLens never uses anyone’s browsing data.

How accurate are revenue estimates?

We show ranges, never a falsely precise number. The model is calibrated on products with verified revenue and backtested in public; where a group fails the backtest, no amount is shown. The real calibration set is still growing, so revenue estimates are not yet shown for real products — users, growth, pricing, ratings and complaints are available now.

What do I get for free?

Users, growth, ratings and pricing are unlimited without sign-in. Deep data (full history, complaint details): 3 views anonymously, 20/month signed in; 2 category radars/month. Pro removes the deep-view limit.

What if a product isn’t tracked yet?

Just open its store page: it’s queued automatically and filled in within 24 hours, and we’ll let you know. Coverage grows every day.

Which products have complaint themes?

Only products with a public review source (currently the same product’s public reviews on Firefox Add-ons), shown in the deep view. Without a source or enough reviews the card says “Not enough negative reviews” — nothing is made up.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Brave, Opera, Arc and other Chromium browsers can install from the Chrome Web Store.

Does it read my browsing history?

No. The extension only activates on extension store pages and Product Hunt and only sends the product ID of that page. Recognizing products on their own websites is off by default and matches locally when on. Anonymous usage stats are off by default.

I’m the author and a number is wrong. What now?

Click “Is this data accurate?” on the card or use the feedback page. Author corrections are reviewed first, and authors who share real revenue help calibrate (anonymously) every estimate.
